Yesterday morning at 8:00 am, Maggie and I dragged out the floor jack and jack stands, tools, etc., and by noon had pulled the trannies out of both our Vanagons. Not bad for a couple of rookies, eh? Mine is out for the third time, of course, so I'm hoping this time will be the charm. We didn't know the condition of Maggie's tranny when we put the subie engine in her Vanagon, so we took a chance and installed it. But it is bad, so now we get to take two trannies to Tulsa for the rebuild. This is getting to be more fun that I want to have.... Received the pig tail VW fix from Bill M. today (and a bonus set of valve cover gaskets) but since the tranny is out for several days, I won't be able to report as to whether the pig tail solves my skipping syndrome.
