Unscrew the tie rod at the steering rack instead of removing the tie rod end. That way you won't have any issues with the alignment. Cheers, Jeff

RE: ..... the PSR had never been installed with hose clamps and were. of course hanging uselessly on the tie-rods. I have this situation (hanging PSR boots). I attempted to install them by removing end tie-rod (counting threads to re-install?) and placing boot on and then re-installing the tie-rod. -Is there a better way to install these PSR boots? -I could not get my new boot to slide into that grove on the PSR itself. Tight fit so there is PROBABLY a trick! -Do you hose clamp BOTH END of these PSR boots? On both side of the rack? -*My boots appear to be "uneven", perhaps even twisted? Any thoughts here>
Also I cannot get my new speedo cable to go thru the steering knuckle? What to do.... -Is a new rubber sleeve a must (the answer?) -Can I greese this location to add its' going thru? -I stop only about 1/4 inch. shy of the cable locatin needed to install the retaining clip. I need a few tricks to make these small jobs go? Thanks Larry Georgia |
