Well, I'm still hemming and hawing about adding gauges to my '86. It is AT, with the big analog clock. I want to keep that gauge cluster. I would like to add a small tach, and I also have a 2" oil pressure gauge I'd like to add. So I was looking for a small aftermarket tach to add like Paul did:

Then I started to think that I should get a 2" in-dash tach and mount it in a 2 gauge cluster with the OP gauge. (Like this: http://snipurl.com/c88w ) So I've been Looking around for such a cluster and where to put it if I did get one. Looks like the center of the top of the instrument panel cover will have the gauges slightly obscured by the top of the steering wheel. Thought about a single gauge pod on either side of the cover, like Paul's tach. But I would rather be able to glance and see at least both tach, and OP at one place. Preferably close to the water temp gauge too. I see a lot of A pillar clusters advertised, none specifically for vanagon of course. That seems like it might be a good use of space. Anybody done this? What popular vehicle has an A pillar similar to a vanagon?

Anyway, I'll quit rambling and ask for examples of what people have done!

Edward
