All, While I have far more pressing Vanagon projects to keep me busy (finish mega in-depth detail of a recently purchased Wolfie and rebuild an engine for the Syncro) the subject of sound pads has got me going. I came across the following site link and need some details. <http://www.members.shaw.ca/bilbo/Chrisvan.html> MAYBE Chris Hinkle will see this and respond personally. All other inputs are more than welcome. Yes, I am checking the archives and thousands of lines of saved list mail but I want to get some detail so I don't go to the store pointing at a picture and making Neanderthal noises, "need dat, need pad, need dat now!" I'm just trying to find out what Chris used when he said, "For soundproofing, I initially used B-Quiet. When I ran out, I just went down to the local roofing supply place and got some generic stuff for about half the price. It's pretty much the same as BQ." What is "generic stuff"? Now I know some of you use the asphalt stuff. I don't like the stuff so don't mention it. I like the adhesive backed, semi-flexible (for easy matching to floors and body shape changes), and the smooth face. Basically the low cost, no name, Dynamat equivalent. For those concerned about the weight I'm adding to the van, just remember how much better gas mileage you're getting. For those concerned about moisture build-up and rust, move to Arizona and New Mexico. Don't take the SA (no, that's not South African) comments the wrong way, I'm just trying to save those the trouble of responding with comments that are going the wrong direction I'm looking so don't take it personal. OK?

Thanks, TJ
