Rather than chewing up the fan switch with channel locks (like I've done), I bit the bullet and purchased the proper deep socket to do the job right - 29mm. All the tool trucks (Snap-on, Mactools, etc.,) I checked with could only get me was an impact style, but the outer diameter of the socket clearanced the tight area just right. Can't remember what I paid for it, but it was close to $25 - $30. Not cheep, but I have a thing about using the right tool for the job, so I guess it's just me.

For 1 3rd hand to hold the radiator, I just happened to have a 2x4 just the right length to hold it up.
