I seem to remember an old issue of the LiMBO (Late Model Bus Organization) publication "The Transporter" had instruction on how to make a Vanagon into a house/hut for ice fishing. To accomodate this function it had two holes in the floor, probably about 12" X12". The holes had "plugs" or caps for when not being used for ice fishing.

Anyway, possibly someone has this old issue and it may offer some tips on cutting part of the floor away.

(And while it may sound like I'm kidding, I'm not. Those who are LIMBO members may remember the issue. )

I have not made the alteration as I don't need access through the floor to ice holes. I just let the ice holes in through the doors, the same way everyone else comes in.

And FWIW, I'm jealous of those of you with furances in, or soon to be in your bus. Good luck with the installation.
