Drained my tank from just under half on the gauge to empty on the gauge by
using the fuel line to the pump. I have no idea how much was left in it, but
it had enough to move it several yards to the carport, run it long enough to
bleed the coolant system and get me to the station about a quarter-mile down
at the end of the street.
Perhaps the pull from the flow is enough to overcome the trap in the tank,
if it's full enough when you start?
Just my experience, ymmv.
