Very carefully remove it and check on the backside for fine cracks (or maybe even a big one). I havent figured out why but out of the half dozen or so bad boots I have found the cracks have always been on the backside. Even when I was doing a lot of work on jettas the cracks were always on the back side.

It used to be these boots were impossible to repair but I am told that there are some newer adhesives out now that can be used. jimt
