Actually, the stock tires on post-1963 Busses and Vanagons are the same size - 185R14. The only exception is Vanagons with the optional factory alloy wheels, which were originally equippped with 205/70R14. However, I run the 185R14's on my Vanagon even though it has alloy wheels. They are still within specs for the alloy wheel, and as George pointed out, have an advantage over a wider tire in terms of snow traction (as well as a reduced tendancy to hydroplane). Additionally, there is better selection and availability of reinforced tires in this size, and they tend to be much cheaper. - Ron Salmon The Bus Depot, Inc. www.busdepot.com (215) 234-VWVW _____________________________________________ Toll-Free for Orders by PART # : 1-866-BUS-DEPOT |
