Shortly after that I bought a '68 1/2, 302 Z-28 with the 4-wheel disc option (what a fun car!). Since 1977 I have always had at least one 240 Volvo, with four in the corral at the present time. Once again 4-wheel discs, so, I can speak from the perspective of some experience in the matter. If you want to be certain of having quiet disc brakes on your foreign car, get your rotors and pads from the dealer. Forget the Band-Aid of smearing whatever is the latest and the greatest goop hanging on the rank at Autozone. Forget the Brembo rotors, even as nicely machined as they are. And, forget the aftermarket pads which are hyped by everyone making a buck on them. If you want certainty, go OE as in dealer. Don't be misled by a parts seller who claims that his parts are made by the same vendor as the original factory parts; that means jack-shit. Vendors have aftermarket operations and original equipment operations, and never the twain shall meet. George |
