Hi Zoltan,

Ever notice that we do not run into these problems in the summer time?

I've fought the same battles on my 89 2.1 Syncro. It turns out that I had a wiring short on the TempII sender and a bad ground on the head. I figured that it was caused by salty road snow getting projected around the engine. The salt causes oxidation and destroys the wiring.

I checked all my ground wires and cleaned up all the ground conenctions. It turns out that the braided wire to the left head looked OK but was corroded once I grabbed it and yanked on it.

I cleaned up all the connections and added/replaced all the grounding wires that I could.

That did the trick, at least for driving around salty snowy slushy roads.

SO check your ground wires and the wires around the tempII that is close to the wheel well where the snow gets slushed around.

Good Luck,

Joel Cort 89 Syncro Westy Rochester NY.

and with all that it still is bucking. What is next? Gas? Gas filter? Or is there something else I can do? Who knows? Zoltan
