I believe the top photo was a prototype/cutaway and the bottom photo was
supposed to be the finished product. Wonder how much damage all that
material would do if it came apart at 80 mph (even 'tho they say it won't,
we've all heard that before...)? Also, no used-tire mountains? What do you
do when the tread wears off, get a retread? Recycle the thing, i.e. get/pay
a core charge?

Can't see Michelin doing something that'll ruin their revenue flow. There be
more to this than they're tellin', by gum.
