Zoltan, From what I have learned on this list, this modification is intended to smooth out the signal from the AFM when small imperfections in the carbon track cause erratic signals. Have you taken the plastic cover off of the AFM? Maybe there are some major gouges in the track that the pigtail device can not compensate for. I have successfully been able to slide the track over so the wiper has a fresh surface. I have installed that famous solution to the vanagon syndrome, that eight inch long piece of cable with some electronic things inside that fits to the AFM. It still does some bucking. Just started. I filled up with new gas but that did not help either. What to do? Zoltan
