Steve has joined the aw list and I've offered him any help I can plus
offered to give him some money. As far as organizing something I'm not
sure i can do that. The aw list is just that a list and although I'm
the moderator I have little influence over them. Most don't NEED a new
top and furthermore it's the least problem we aw owners have.
This interest in there molds has recently come to this list but I've
been trying to find a home for them for quite some time. At first Ed
wanted to sell them with the aw name and had no luck. Then later he was
just looking to see the molds and now he's just giving them away. I
like you live in the east so organizing something is hard. I have
already contacted 5 high top manufactures and EVERY one of them had NO
interest and I mean 100% no interest. I can't say I blame them but it's
just the reality that these van are not getting younger, the windows
the molds are made for are expensive, out of production, hard to get,
and require skill to put together even when they were available.
Anyone who has spent 10 minutes with me knows my intensity with regards
to these vans, the history and helping others with aw related problems.
What is needed is someone to come forward that is personally interested
in making a mold and or storing them. But make no mistake the man or
company that pulls a mold from this is not making an AW he's just
making a high top and for me that holds little interest other then if I
need to repair mine. That said if ANYONE is interested in taking this
on I am happy to help in anyway I can. I know more about how these vans
are put together then most including the the color coded wiring harness
that's over 20 feet long and runs thru-out the van.
OK, I'm done
JFF aka aw guy .;-)

joe...since youre the moderator for the Adventurewagen list...dont you
think
its fair to organize some sort of collection on the AW list for fellow
AW
owners to help cover the costs of that listmember in cali to help out
with his
costs of moving/storing the molds? that only seems fair...i would
think so..
he doesnt even own a AW... he is doing this out of his own pocket.. i
dont
own a AW either.. but i think the AW owners should help this guy
out... not to
put you on the spot...but here you have someone who is offereing to
help...i
think he should be rewarded...
like i said before.. AW people..where's the love?
just my 2¢
