The largest suppliers of A/C units for a wide variety of cars and trucks
were. John E. Mitchell Co., ArctiCar, Frigiking, Vanguard (given a little
time I can come up with another five local Mfg.) and each of them produced
ten or more private labeled units for Sears, Montgomery Ward, Firestone and
another dozen or so mass merchandisers that had auto repair shops.
The Behr unit was imported and combined with York or Tecumseh compressors
and mounts.
