As the starter bushing is a bit "out of round", when it heats up (read expands) it doesn't want to allow the shaft to spin as freely...you are actually working against it... I replaced the happy little bushing (used a tap)...replacement is made easy (got the recommendation after I muttled for a while) by a similar sized bolt, grease and nut...its in the archives... Cheap but stinky fix... From the archives it looks like it could be weak ground(s), starter support bushing worn out of round, or weak starter. My question is why does it work fine when the motor is cold? Thanks Pascal '84 Westy
