Hi Pete and Nancy,

That's the same weekend as the True Canadian Winter Bus Campout.... Us frostbitten canucks can't wait for spring either. We had 8 buses last year and 10 or more are expected this time around. Glad to hear we're not the only crazy ones out there.

I put up a "winter camping tips" page for the TCWBC at http://www.pottsfamily.ca/The_Bug_Pack/TCWBC/WinterHints.html. but here are some highlights:

- Use a piece of foam carpet underlay or ensolite padding to insulate your beach chairs and to keep your bum off the frozen picnic table seats. - Eat LOTS of high-carb food. Active adults can use as much as 5000 calories when active outdoors.

- A 1000W electric heater will do an excellent job of heating a westy. Each person adds about 100W of extra heat.

- Keep a window open to allow the water vapour to escape.

Have a good time!

Happy trails,
