Paul,

I have an 1980 ASI and my lil red charge light is on only when hooked up to shore power..

I'm not sure why yours is on constant, but recheck the wiring of course.. now as a side note, I've discovered (in the cold) that mine only charges the Aux battery.. and that doesn't help my Diesel in the cold. at the moment I use jumper cables while parked/stored to keep both batteries up and 'warm'

did you save ALL of the ASI parts? under the front carpet should be a nice rubber floormat with grid texture. the glove box is ASI unique, and the screens on the side sliders are far superior to the westy screens (IMHO)

did you save the pop-top? I'm glad you scored a Furnace model.. I'm very envious over that.. keep up the good work.. and if your not going to use the front rubber floor mat, let me know.. I'm always looking for them.

I'm installing a 1982 ASI Riviera camper interior into a 1984 Vanagon. Does anyone out there have an 82 ASI or know someone who does?

I've gotten everything installed. The fridge, stove, and furnace work. I have 2 batteries, with a battery separator between them.

Here's my question: The 110v main "breaker box" has a red charging light on all the time, even when "shore power" is disconnected. It does go out when the camping battery is disconnected.

This doesn't seem normal. I would imagine the red light goes on only when 110v power is charging the battery?? can anyone explain this?
