Subject: How to run out of gas.
Content-type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1"

Just got through doing some work on the gas tank and like a dummy put one gallon back in instead of 6 gallons I had taken out. (in a dummy hurry and had gas in a one gallon and in a 5 gallon can and only put the one back in)

Was on the way over to my daughters and realized it at the same time I started down a slope and saw a gas station up ahead. One gallon in the tank (about a quart at that point) is not enough to go down a slope and have gas reach the pump. At the same time as the engine was going silent I realized what I had done and rolled over to the side of the road and proceeded to bang my head on the steering wheel. Fortunately texaco had put a station only 50 meters up the road.

However I did manage to prove that a 2.2 gallon gas can (plastic) will bring the fuel gauge on the 82 right to the edge of the orange reserve marker. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• jimt Planned insanity is best.
