No. The interest had been up before then. Mainly from word of mouth. The surfacing on Car Talk is more a sign of the event's growing popularity rather than a cause. Although the mention has generated new web traffic from people searching "syncro de mayo" on Google. So it may result in a few new attendees, who knows. But it's mostly the core western US syncro folks who pull together each year and make it such a great event. Lots of talented people pitch in to make it something special. We enjoy the event as much as our syncros and thus give it the same kind of love and attention to detail. After 6 years of doing it, we're getting good at it, too!
