I think there is some merit to these discussion continuing on the list rather than through pmails. Those who aren't interested can delete the messages, but those who are can read them and comment if they have some input. If you want some sense of what others think, then the discussions have to be public.

So, I would suggest letting the discussion perk on the vanagon list for about a week, and possibly notifying some of the other major vanagon related lists that this discussion is in progress so that we get the widest range of opinions. Who knows, but the person most qualified to handle these might not be on this list, but on say the syncro list or the subaruvanagon list.

After about a week, you could announce a time for final comments. You could announce your intended course of action and get responses. Or something like this anyway.

Just my thoughts, maybe my $.02, if they are worth that much.
