All,
In the very early days of my Air Force career, I did the same thing
with nuclear bomb once-just once. I had a few fingers through the
front lug (what holds the bomb on to the bomb rack) and my feet kicked
back like a real cowboy. Yes, it was real. It was either a 45 or 60
Kt model. 99% highly polished aluminum. It shined like god himself
was coming over the crest of a hill. Don't anybody freak out over the
analogy it's not meant to be religious. I had not seen the Slim
Pickens movie at the time but it was the first thing out the bosses
mouth. And Yes, I promply got thrown of Weapons Load Barn (the
training location for aircraft weapons load crews.) It was worth it.
I was famous after that one...
