On another note, ever since I bought my '90 GL a yera and a half ago, It has seemed to ride VERY harshly over sharp bumps and such. I had thought suspension bushings and shocks, but the local VW shop (Volk's Cafe) said only shocks, the suspension bushings wouldn't cause the harsh ride. I replaced the old KYBs with Bilistiens and the ride improved a little, but it is still not as good as I think it should be, The CD player still skips when I hit a small pothole or surface change. It is a new Blaupunkt CD/Radio. What should I look at next? Bushings? Ball Joints? New Alpine CD? One of the reasons that I bought the Blaupunkt was that it would hook up easily and because it didn't look as Gaudy or Flashy as some of the other players. Also, thanks to those who responded about the dying while cold problem, that cured itself as soon as I bought the temp sensor II ($10 at Volks Cafe). Dave Hally |
