Subject: power steering rack rebuild or not
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Am forced to deal w/ my rack soon. got leak- have leak sealer, but for how long? I am deciding to go with a rebuild kit or a new rebuilt unit.Cant decide which is most efficent. I can get a rebuild kit , disk couplers and mounting bushings from vendors for about $160.Or can go w/ a rebuilt unit for $275. This includes inner tie rod arms.No coupling disks. How importiant are the tie rod arms?Do these usewally need replacement w/the rack , or can the old ones b used indefinatly(like I will if i rebuild)?fNot afraid to try a rebuild.Only want do do the job right the firsrt time(I have learned this the hard way).Gotta get rid of any evil slop in the steering ya know.
