Subject: Met a person from Wolfsburg.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

I work in K12 schools. A young woman who was filling out a form asked me "what is a precinct?". I said "it's a division of some governmental area like a ward or something." She started to rattle on, "I don't know what a precinct is. I'm from Germany and I have no idea what..." She was filling out a scholarship form. I helped her find out what precinct she lived in by having her call the city offices. Any way, I said "what town are you from in Germany?". She said "Wolfsburg, they make some Volkswagens there." I said "No kidding, I have two of them." She got confused. I don't know why. But I had to clarify that I had a Jetta that was a Wolfsburg edition and a Vanagon that was one too.

I just thought it was strange to meet someone from there in a medium sized High School in Northern Illinois.

John.
