folks...this is NOT mine..but it belongs to a listmember who IS on this
list..   he contacted me about it..he is selling it because he hasnt used it much
in 6 yrs..
i would have snapped this up but im currently in the process of buying
another vehicle...so i must pass on this deal..i told him id put the word out.  at
this price im sure it will go fast.

heres the specs:
'87 Westy, full GL poptop camper..stove/sink/fridge etc.. 4spd manual, cruise
control, a/c, 127k mi.  white w/ grey velour.   new volkswagen factory engine
at 75k mi.  front bumper is setup with tow bar, to pull the westy behind a
motorhome or whatever.  has new rear bumper (not installed). comes w/ bentley.
he has owned this van for 10 yrs, and put 40k mi on it.
he has not used the westy much in the past 6 yrs, so its been sitting..but he
started it up periodically..  he said heads didnt leak.  there is some minor
seam/surface rust, not bad. no holes. easy touchup. he is supposed to send me
pics.  last time he started the van up, it blew the fuel rail endcap off or
fuel line , so he shut it off immediatly.  it would need the fuel line replaced
before driving it anywhere.  other than that, it starts and runs ok, but i'd
have it towed.
at any rate, he wants $2500 FIRM.   and you all know $2500 for a '87 full
westy is dirt cheap.  he does not want people calling him and dicking around with
his price, he needs to get $2500 for it, bottom line.   dont ask for pics or
bother him if your not serious about buying.. the westy is located near
CHICAGO, IL.

good luck folks...if i wasnt buying another vanagon at the moment i'd had
