Jonathan: There is a problem with the FI on the air cooled 2 liter motors. It is starting when cold at high altitudes. I'm attaching something I wrote about it a while back. I have never had trouble when warm, so check what has been advised. My big "S" hose from the AFM to the throttle valve had a crack at the bottom, so you could inspect it and think it OK, but it really wasn't if you took it off and flexed it.
