Thanks, Beside the alternator and battery, one more thing to check is the fridge relay. At least in my '82 Diesel it is driven directly from the same signal as the alt indicator. If the relay pulls too much current (or wiring is somehow bad) the alternator won't regulate right. Try to disconnect the relay (it is located behind the drivers seat under the lid behind the seat) and see if alt problems go away.
