Throttle switch won't do that. Bad/weak O@ sensor or the wiring to it. The green shielded cable going to it will sometimes crack and when water gets in there, the O2 sensor gets partially shorted out. Since flooring the throttle brings back some power, the throttle switch is there and working. At full throttle and open AFM, the O2 sensor is ignored.

I put the tranny back in Billy Bones (don't ask) and drove it around a bit. Then decided to clean my engine. Each time I clean the engine I develop a problem with the throttle body switch. Is there some way that water gets into the switch or switch contacts and causes this problem? The problem persists long after the engine dries.

The engine starts fine, then you take off and it seems to run out of gas. Then you can either turn the ignition off and restart and it will run fine, or you can slam full throttle and it will take off like a rocket (well, sort of). It is in the middle range where it does not want to run, which suggests that the throttle switch is not triping or is shorted out with water or something. Once you drive around for several miles it clears up, but shut it off and let it cool down and you have to go through this process again.

Ideas?
