The Vanagon's must have been in stealth mode, driving at the speed of light, or camping somewhere off the highway. I vote stealth mode looking like casino vans. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the land of warm and dry.

After just returning from an uneventful trip in our Westy (VW problem-wise that is) to Las Vegas from the Central CA coast, I can see that "bigger is not always better". On our trip down to Vegas, we saw about 4 single car rollover accidents on Highway 15 going into Vegas - all big SUV's, but one. Today, we saw another single car rollover with a Suburban on the same highway coming home and there was evidently a fatality in this accident. Sometimes after seeing things like this, it's nice to just take your time driving and leave all the fast flyers to the fast lanes. Maybe it's a blessing not to be able to drive 90 miles per hour.

By the way, didn't see hardly any Vanagons to and from or in Vegas. We maybe saw 4 or so the whole trip.
