The reason is that VW does not export its commercial vehicles to the US.
This is for two reasons.  One is the limited market (has never been tested
so how do they know?) the other is that there is a rather prohibitive import
duty on commercial vehicles that isnt on passenger vehicles.  I would love
to see some of the VW LT series into the US.  I would be looking to acquire
one for a new camper base.  They are going to start building some in mexico
but they are not going to be built to US or Euro standard.  In country and
brazil only.
