1) That black thing is a condenser.
2) They almost never go bad.
3) Transfer it.
4) If you have a Westy with the Fridge relay or a dual battery relay
triggered off the alternator warning, there should be a second condenser
wired to that circuit.

I just pulled the alternator out after a week of running with the red
dummy
lites on---(I had 2 of the manufacturers screws fall out of the old
one)----The
quick question is
1:WHAT is the little 1 inch square thing on the back with the wire
coming
out-a condensor?--
2: Why isn't it on my new alternator? and
3: Should I get a new one or just switch out the old part?
