paul & chris,

i'd hate to be the previous owner of the vehicle you or your friends parted out if the title was not transfered to you. in california, DMV will continue to bill you for one more year of registration (sent to franchise tax board if not paid) the present owner. in other word you are not done simply because the car is no longer on the road.

besides it is technically illegal to part out a vehicle w/o a proper license. has to do with people dumping toxic fluids into the soil, etc.
