My 2-cents.

I think you could find a bunch of better tires than the Yokohama Avid Touring .

I'd look for something with a Load index of 97 or better and something higher than 35 psi max inflation pressure.

If you like Yokohama the Geolandar H/T-S is very hard to beat for your stated needs.

Going to go ahead and get the GoWesty 15" wheel set for my 84 westy and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on a good all around tire to go with them. The Michelins are nice but a little on the pricey side. We have the Yokohama Avid Touring on our Mazda MPV minivan and I love them and there $50 a piece, so I'm thinking of going this route.

I drive 99% of the time on the road so I don't need anything you syncro guys are using, but do go "off the pavement" to get to a good camping spot on occasion.
