One possible difference in our experiences is that the vehicles I had with lapsed registrations never made it back on the road or into the hands of subsequent owners. Other than that, I dunno- I seriously doubt that the DMV is giving me any preferential treatment, believe me. My only other theory is that MM is prevailing upon his former relationships to amuse himself at your expense. : )
