Sorry Larry, but i don't have many details to give... The main complaint was that it was flat, not terribly scenic, and any little town they stopped in was small and without charm. Keep in mind they are from Alaska where small charmless towns are the norm, but at least they have scenery. They were talking about whatever part of NM is nearest to Phoenix, AZ. Basically, i think the problem was that they did a lot of driving to get to Arizona (via. an indirect route), so they were probably hoping for something a little special for the extra miles they were putting on, which it simply wasn't (in their opinion). They did mention a beautiful sky, though (presuming around sunset time).
