Jim,

Anything which was made by a man can be fixed by a man. Whether or not it is economically justifiable in either time or money is all together another matter.

Years ago I had a window motor in a Volvo queef out. The cost for a replacement was more than two chops and that was in late 70's dineros. So, I took the motor apart and found that the adhesive holding one of the magnets had given up its grip. The repair was very straightforward once I got over the idea that the motor did not look like a repairable component.

If you have the time, open that thing up and see what's going on inside of it. You might be surprised and the worst case is that you will still have to fork over that $141 which you have already spent in your mind.
