Try your FLABS (friendly local auto body supply :-)

Don't give the Car Talk guys too hard a time, they're entertainers these days. It's been a couple of decades (at least) since they had to turn wrenches to earn a living. The show is also aimed at ordinary folks with their daily drivers, not aficionados of fine classic automotive craftsmanship like the folks on this list.

If their audience was classic car enthusiasts, you can bet they would mention the body seam rust issue when they discuss Vanagons, since this is about the only design problem in the vehicle that simply *cannot* be avoided.

If you keep it, it will rust... but it will probably still run. The only Vanagons left on the road are the survivors, it's natural selection at work. Now if we could only get them to breed in captivity...
