A couple of years ago I non-op'd my '62 Impala and when registration came due the following year I did not have to do anything to keep the non-op status unless I was to have moved, relocated the vehicle, or sold it. If your vehicle is non-op'd you can't relocate it to another address (not even your next door neighbor) without getting a permit. If the DMV found out you had relocated the vehicle without a permit you would have to pay for the previous year license with a penalty for late payment and a fine. I don't know how much the fine is but it is supposed to be steep. I left the '62 in the garage until I sold it. After the bill of sale was signed the new owner could do what he wanted with it. AAA was good enough to not ask if it was currently registered.

It used to be that you registered no op once and it was good from then on. Maybe that's changed now?

Damn.
