Volks, Found the problem with my AVP 2.1L Rebuilt Engine. One Cracked Head, leaking paste intake valves and one cylinder o-ring damaged. In the interest of being more accurate on the problem description. It was blowing collant out of the fill bottle overflow at highway Speed .. Above 45mph but fine around town. Background: Purchased the AVP engine from Bus Depot last May and have driven it For just under 9,000. Currently in discussions with Lenoard at AVP and Ron at Bus Depot as to whether any of this is covering under the 12 month/12k mile warranty. So now I'm looking for a new set of AMC heads at the best price I can find..
Various test Results on the Engine: Compression Gasses test via Emissions type sniffer 1000 HC 300 HC 250 HC Leak Down Test 45/65/45/85 Compression 110/105/115/80 Disassembled things far enough to check all head bolts. Found a total of 8 loose. Pulled the heads ..... Left side head cracked on the small land between the two valve sets. Both heads had valves leaking, not sealing correctly.
