Hey Greg P, The below sentence is only partially true: "Carbon added to the atmosphere due to transportation technology doesn't care if it's from corn, sugar beets or dead dinosaurs, the end result is no different." Actually, IF you are creating CO2 from burning corn or beets or soybeans or any other biofuel, you're creating "carbon neutrality" because as long as the crops are replanted, the new crops will take that CO2 back in (or "fix" it) and pump it out as O2 thru photosynthesis. So you're not gaining or losing CO2 by burning the bios -- thus not contributing to global warming. That's a big plus to biofuels. Other points are well taken tho. Dixon! |
