I recently went through this on my 87. The clevis yoke and clevis pin are available at the VW dealer for not much money. On mine, the clevis yoke was fine but the pin was half worn through. The worn pin also ovaled out the hole in the clutch pedal/lever. The lever is made too thin IMO, so the pin rides on less surface area than it should. Without periodic lubrication the pin wears down and damages the hole in the lever as well. Don't worry much about the yoke, it is hardened steel with much more surface area. Mine had no wear while the pin and lever were junk.
