I've got a funny(ish) story about AAA. We have AAA+.

We ran out of gas (Actually diesel) on the Oregon Coast near Cape Blanco. Oddly enough, the fuel guage in our Westy decided to start lying. 1/4 tank meant empty!

Well, any who, we had cell coverage, and called AAA. A fellow from about 60 miles away had to bring diesel. Fine, we waited and had lunch. A Syncro Westy passed by us with nary a wave. :-( It was obvious we were having some sort problem, with the engine cover off an all. Not that he could of helped, but......

So, after an hour and a half, the AAA fellow shows up, and fuels us up. Well, kind of. He put the fill hose in the gas can backwards, and dumped about half ormore on the ground.

But, with a couple of gallons in the tank, off we go to the nearest town to fill.

The funny part of the story: A couple weeks later, we get a bill from the tow folks for $6.00. Evidentally, the kid didn't know AAA only buys 2 gallons of fuel. He gave (or tried to give) us 5. He got about 2 in the tank, and 3 on the road.

I contacted the two company, and told them where, on the side of the road, the other three gallons of fuel is. ;-)

Jon
