Don't worry yourself too much, man. First time most people get a dose of 40 mph winds at 115 degrees they bug out for the hills. The rest of them can't take the 3.5 months at over 100 degrees so they follow 'em. However, the climate seems to be fairly good for Vanagons (rust wise), assuming you are assiduous about the cooling system and yer AC works...

My wife has a pet black widow between the kitchen windows... 'Fido III', so named because we're assuming she's the third generation since we've lived here.

I'm ready to move somewhere that has seasons. I'm sure I'll find something to bitch about shortly after I get there.
