From: Don Williams <williams@fire.biol.wwu.edu> Subject: I'll give you a little different perspective. I bought an 85 Westy with AC that worked, and I took it out!!! How's that for a different point of view. The additional space above the sleeping area is wonderful and useful, the space you gain in the engine compartment is essential for working on it, and the inclination to interact with your outside environment is vastly increased with air conditioning. It may decrease your saleability a little---I don't know, but I will tell you this. The kind of person that is going to buy a 20 year old van is probably not the kind of person that would worry about air conditioning anyway. If you are worried about interacting with your environment get a Toyota Sienna and stay bottled up 24- 7. Maybe you can find a refrigerated suit that will get you from your air-conditioned vehicle into the motel room!!!
