Subject: Why SA big brakes saved my ass today

So I'm in Newport today on the 73 toll road heading home to Laguna. Driving around 60 and in the right lane is a line of cars waiting to exit to Macarthur- they're moving around 20. So this lady in front of me in Ford Excurspedition decides to put her ABS to work so she can get over into the exit lane -- but no one lets her in. Shiiiiiiiiit, I say, slamming on the brakes and bringing a center console-mounted vanilla latte to rest on my foot. My adventurewagen topped full westy syncro goes from zoot to naught in a pounding heartbeat. No fade, no squeals, no pulls to the right or left, no wobbles afterward from overheated and now warped front rotors. Thanks Veronica Fraga for installing these things before I bought yer van, and thanks for installing that industrial strength horn. Scared the bejeeezus out of Newport lady blabbing on cellphone in said Excurspedition. I think these brakes saved my ass and saved that lady from getting a set of bull bumpers up hers. If I'm not mistaken the brakes came from Volkscafe. Dixon
