While not directly related to gasoline, the following excerpt from transcripts just release by a U.S. court in Snohomish Washington.

The obscenity laced transcripts detail conversations about "project Stanley". formulated by Enron and Powerex corp to manipulate electrical energy bid rigging after Alberta deregulated electricity in 1998. Our power prices have increased 4 and 5 fold as a result.

here tis as reported in the Edmonton Journal, March 4 2005..

"Oh my God" says Enron official Jeff Storey of Houston during a call to a colleague on June 17 1999. "So you guys, you and Powerex are getting together to screw Alberta, basically". "Yeah, yeah" replies an Alberta Enron official named Bill. noting that he expects an invitation to the Powerex Christmas party as a result. "I'm going to jail" Bill says earlier in the conversation. "What for?" asks Storey "Pool price manipulation" replies Bill. "Are you currently manipulating them?" Storey asks. "yes" Bill answers.

In another conversation, May 27, 1999, a Portland, Ore Enron staffer identified as Valerie puts it bluntly to Bill. " You are rigging the market are you?" "It's a gong show." he replies " You good boy" she answers, "I'm proud of you man. You make us proud"

Yeh, there's no collusion in the energy industry.

Wake up folks. Demand better.
