Subject: O2 Sensor
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Having trouble with my engine again (88GL) and it seems to be related to the O2 sensor. It had been stalling a couple of times when I start up the engine but today it stalled 17 times in less than 2 miles. Something similar happened to me before so I tried a temporary fix by disconnecting the O2 sensor. That seemed to fix it for the moment and will have to replace it as well as the muffler, but right now it's below freezing and there is 7" of snow everywhere. So my question is how long can I run without the O2 sensor? The only effect I’ve seen is a slightly higher rpm and if I recall correctly, it runs a little lean. I'd like to wait till much better weather but can I go that long? Thanks as usual.

Bill H. 88GL
