Audin,

First thing, try getting it filled elsewhere... I had one guy at an RV place tell me the valve was bad 'cause he couldn't fill the tank. Tried another place (a propane dealer), and the guy working the hose had more experience, and a longer memory... specifically, he knew to de-pressurize the fill hose, hook it up, *then* turn on the gas to the hose. That did the trick.

If a propane dealer with a long memory can't make it work, and you *do* need to replace things, I'd still go with a propane dealer over an RV place... they'll probably be less worried about the liability issue, since they deal with nothing *but* flammable gas, tanks and valves.

If you opt to DIY, check the archives. There have been posts within the past year that listed sources and part numbers for replacement valves that can be screwed into the Westie tank.

Good Luck!

Tim
