E.T. is a euro measurement which only does you any good if you know the width of the wheel. Americans use backspace which is 1/2 the actual wheel width plus the amount of offset. Or you can measure it directly with a tape-measure and a straight-edge measuring between the wheels mounting surface and the inside edge of the wheel. America also was the largest producer of tires for a long time so their sizing method stuck.
